Lingueglietta
The wonderful village of Lingueglietta, in the Ligurian hinterland, is rightfully among the most beautiful villages in Italy.
The church dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, dating back to the 13th century and preserving the remains of San Clemente, overlooks the main square, where you can find one of the two car parks of the hamlet.
The Lingueglietta main monument is the church of San Pietro, a very rare example of a religious building (from the mid-13th century) transformed into a fortress in the 16th century: there the inhabitants used to took refuge and defended during the Barbary raids.
Under an archivolt in the center of the town are the ancient units of measurement for oil, wine and grain, made of stone and perfectly preserved.
A few meters away is the ancient market, a historic place that offers a wonderful view of the sea.
